Tone Correction is one final stage of adjustable EQ in the PodXT designed to compensate for any colouration provided by the pre-amp of the guitar amplifier you’re plugging into. Tone Correction is switched on by selecting either Combo Front or Stack Front as the answer to “What are you connecting to?” on the PodXT’s tuner menu.
Tone Correction isn’t very well explained in the Line 6 literature so, while I was looking at the PodXT’s bypass properties on the signal analyzer, I took a brief look at what Tone Correction actually does to the PodXT’s EQ. The charts below show the bypass response of the PodXT in Studio Direct mode and then various settings of the Combo Front mode.
Studio Direct:
Combo Front: 100% Lows, 890 Hz Focus, 100% Highs
Combo Front: 50% Lows, 890 Hz Focus, 100% Highs
